It has been a while since my last post. But today we signed Clifford Lee and locked him up for 5 years. Not only is this great news for Philly but it’s also nice a shot at the Yankees who offered him 30 million more. This shows that spitting on a pitcher’s wife isn’t a good way to recruit them. With the addition of Lee it easily makes our pitching rotation the best in baseball today, and maybe in MLB history. Halladay, Cliff Lee, Oswalt and Hamels. Boom. While were stacking our teams, Washington DC is scooping up our sloppy seconds and insanely overpaying them. I liked Werth but the contract he got was Jeter money. There was no reason for the Phillies to pay that kind of money for our 4th or 5th best player. I also don’t get the contract extension that McNabb got. He got benched because the head coach didn’t have faith in the guy then he comes back after the bye with a huge contract. Well played McNabb. Very impressive.
